It is pretty well known that Hollywood typically leans to the left when it comes to politics. Which is exactly why some of conservative views of the people on this list took us a bit by surprise. Take a look for yourself, you just might be shocked at some of the names on this list.

Vince Vaughn is opposed to higher taxes and increased government regulation.

“I like the way it was until 1913 (when the 16th Amendment was ratified, legalizing a federal income tax), when locally you had sales taxes and property taxes.” he said. “That seems ethical to me, because I can move to a different neighborhood or area if I like the services they provide.

“To this day, your police department and your fire department are paid for with local taxes, and that makes sense, because you might use those,” he added. “But the federal government looking into your books to decide what to take from you, that feels wrong.” Read more about Vince’s political stance…

2. Bruce Jenner

Bruce Jenner recently announced he was a Republican.

In a two-hour special aired on ABC, Jenner, 65, sat down with Diane Sawyer and revealed what has been speculated by the public for months. But he shared another fact that sent waves through the political community, telling Sawyer he’s a Republican, too.

The conversation about his political stance began when Sawyer asked him his thoughts about Barack Obama becoming the first president to use the word “transgender” in his 2015 State of the Union.

“Did you cheer the president?” Sawyer asked Jenner.

“I will certainly give him credit for that,” Jenner responded. “But not to get political, I’ve just never been a big fan. I’m kind of more on the conservative side.”

“Are you Republican?” Sawyer asked.

“Yeah,” he said with a smile. “Is that a bad thing? I believe in the Constitution.”

He added that he’s thought about whether becoming a woman would be unsettling for the conservative wing of the Republican party, but told Sawyer that neither political party has a monopoly on “understanding.” Read the full story…

In 1988, Willis and then-wife Demi Moore campaigned for Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis‘s Presidential bid. Four years later, he supported President George H. W. Bush for reelection and was an outspoken critic of Bill Clinton. However, in 1996, he declined to endorse Clinton’s Republican opponent Bob Dole, because Dole had criticized Demi Moore for her role in the film Striptease. Willis was an invited speaker at the 2000 Republican National Convention, and supported George W. Bush that year. He did not make any contributions or public endorsements in the 2008 presidential campaign. In several June 2007 interviews, he declared that he maintains some Republican ideologies.

In 2006, he said that the United States should intervene more into Colombia, in order to end the drug trafficking. In several interviews Willis has said that he supports large salaries for teachers and police officers, and said he is disappointed in the United States foster care system as well as treatment of Native Americans. Willis also stated that he is a supporter of gun rights, stating, “Everyone has a right to bear arms. If you take guns away from legal gun owners, then the only people who have guns are the bad guys.”

In February 2006, Willis appeared in Manhattan to talk about his film 16 Blocks with reporters. One reporter attempted to ask Willis about his opinion on the current government, but was interrupted by Willis in mid-sentence: “I’m sick of answering this fucking question. I’m a Republican only as far as I want a smaller government, I want less government intrusion. I want them to stop shitting on my money and your money and tax dollars that we give 50 percent of every year. I want them to be fiscally responsible and I want these goddamn lobbyists out of Washington. Do that and I’ll say I’m a Republican. I hate the government, OK? I’m apolitical. Read more about Bruce…
