ISIS: Closer Than We Think

Though ISIS is quite disturbing and has people up in arms, the US at least felt safe enough as we are far away. Not anymore.

The Islamic terror group is much closer than we had originally thought. According to Mexican authorities, there is a camp just eight miles from the US and Mexico border. According to the Washington Times, this border was chosen strategically for its lack of strength at that point. Certain sources believe that New Mexico has been an area that ISIS is looking into.

“These specific areas were targeted for exploitation by ISIS because of their understaffed municipal and county police forces, and the relative safe-havens the areas provide for the unchecked large-scale drug smuggling that was already ongoing,” Judicial Watch reported. Read more ….

While the US State Department denies the reports of this, the truth is that there is a definite possibility that ISIS is much closer than we think.  They are aware of some of our weak spots, and may try to penetrate them soon. ISIS is even posting this fact on their social media.

The Mexican border has long been seen as a potential vulnerability.FoxNews.com reported last summer that social media chatter shows ISIS is aware of the porous border, and are “expressing an increased interest” in crossing over to carry out a terrorist attack. Continue reading here…

Why should we be worried?

According to CNN, “ISIS sees itself as a government operating under a rule of law, even if the group is most often talked about for its barbaric punishment of anyone who resists or defies its medieval interpretation of that Islamic law.” Read more from CNN here…

Whether unfounded or not, ISIS is definitely something that should be on our radar. With all of the crazy tactics they have used lately, infiltrating US soil has to be on their radar soon. Even though these claims were denied, there is a strong possibility that something could be going on here.
